Julie really knows her numbers and gave both a confident and brilliant presentation! Julie was both informative, and entertaining and there was so much note taking and questions at the end by pin members due to value and content. Julie was also in great demand at the end of the meeting, with many members staying behind to ask questions and to learn from Julie’s wisdom and knowledge.

Our second speaker was Julie Barker – How the numbers work. I’ve never seen Julie speak before and she came across really confident, warm and very knowledgeable. Again, another presentation delivered without complication and incredibility helpful to our audience. Who knew crunching numbers could be so sexy! We were delighted with her presentation and style of delivery. Dave her hubby was with her and it was nice to see his support.

Slides ready to download, Turned up early checked slides and had a catch up then wandered off and left us to get on with it – absolutely brilliant. Julie Barker of Positive Bookkeeping started working for me in 2008 as a bookkeeper on a recommendation from an ActionCoach business coach.
Initially one day per week Julie’s hours quickly progressed to 3 days a week, then full time whist she still retained the core client base of her bookkeeping business.

I initially approached Positive Bookkeeping for help with my book keeping after they were recommended to me by my accountant.
I required a bookkeeper who was very experienced in managing property investors in order to help me professionalise my accounting practises.
I also wanted to use a cloud based software system to enable easy access to detailed and real time data. Julie advised that she could fulfil all of my criteria and we agreed on the use of Xero as the accounting software system.
We have now been working together for a few years and I have data that I can access at any time of the day or night with almost real time accuracy. I also receive monthly reporting to complement.
Our relationship and system enables me to manage my business and finances much more effectively. I was first introduced to Julie Barker of Positive Bookkeeping at a networking event 12 years ago. We were at the start of my journey with Ram Training Ltd and had little idea about which way to turn regarding my financial liabilities.
We quickly realised that Julie had most of the answers to my questions. Over the next 6 months Julie took our accounts in hand and would call on a regular basis to get our books in order.
Her advice was to get on with what we do best and leave the bookwork to her; that was sound advice and advice I still use to this day. Small businesses can spend far to much time trying to save costs rather than spending time on what creates revenue.
Within 3 months after registering the company we went VAT registered again Julie was there look after the books.
Julie understands that all businesses are different so one way doesn’t fit all. As part of the service Julie would sit us down and individually go thorough our invoices trying to make sense of what had purchased to run the company.
These afternoons led to a great friendship between both of our families. Today Ram Training is thriving and Julie is still there beavering away in the background always there always happy to take a call day or night.
